ALEXANDRIA, Va. – The National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA), the nation’s leading advocate for America’s 3,000 independent beer distributors, announced that it will host its 83rd Annual Convention and Product Showcase virtually, October 5-6, 2020. Press registration for the virtual event is now open.

NBWA will welcome CEOs of some of the world’s most recognized brands, including Michel Doukeris, CEO of Anheuser-Busch, and Mark Brown, President and CEO of Sazerac Company, Inc., who will discuss the current state of the beverage alcohol industry.

The dynamic speaker line-up will also include General Stan McChrystal, former commander of U.S. and International Forces in Afghanistan, co-founder of the McChrystal Group and author of the best-selling leadership books, My Share of the Task: A Memoir, Team of Teams: New Rules of Engagement for a Complex World and Leaders: Myth and Reality. General McChrystal will share insights learned on the battlefield and how they can apply to leading during the pandemic.

Attendees will also hear from two highly respected former bipartisan members of Congress – the Honorable Joe Crowley (D-NY) and the Honorable Bill Shuster (R-PA). Representatives Crowley and Shuster will share the stage to provide their behind-the-scenes analysis of 2020 campaigns up and down the ballot. They will discuss their insights on what to expect in the homestretch of this election season.

“As COVID-19 continues to impact our way of life in communities across the country, we as an industry must work together to ensure America’s independent beer distribution network remains the strongest and safest in the world,” said NBWA President and CEO Craig Purser. “This year’s virtual Annual Convention and Product Showcase offers a unique opportunity for our members to come together to hear from influential leaders and share ideas and tools that will help their businesses adapt and prosper in this challenging environment.”

NBWA is committed to providing opportunities for beer distributors to learn the latest tools and best practices to keep the industry strong, especially amid these uncertain times. In addition to the general sessions that will be broadcast live on the virtual Convention platform, the event will highlight over 16 education seminars ranging from best practices in the era of COVID-19 to tips for strengthening beer distribution businesses and provide access to some of the most innovative suppliers in the country through its virtual product showcase.

The National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA) represents America’s 3,000 independent beer distributors with operations in every state, congressional district and media market across the country. Licensed at the federal and state levels, beer distributors get bottles, cans, cases and kegs from a brewer or importer to stores, restaurants and other licensed retail accounts through a transparent and accountable regulatory system. Distributors build brands of all sizes — from familiar domestic beers to new startup labels and imports from around the world – and generate enormous consumer choice while supporting more than 140,000 quality jobs in their home communities. Beer distributors work locally to keep communities safe by sponsoring programs to promote responsible consumption, combat drunk driving and work to eliminate underage drinking.
