NBWA Condemns Breach of the U.S. Capitol

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — National Beer Wholesalers Association President & CEO Craig Purser issued the following statement on the violent actions at the U.S. Capitol today:
“Today’s unlawful assault on the U.S Capitol and the nation’s democracy jars our sense of security and order. These violent actions run directly counter to America’s history of the peaceful transfer of power and undermine our Constitution.
Having worked on Capitol Hill and having been involved in the political process for more than 30 years, I am heartbroken. This attack on our Capitol, a beacon of our democracy and our American values, is shameful and shakes our foundation as a nation.
We must take comfort in the fact that our country has faced challenges before and we will move forward together.
Please join me in praying for all of those working on Capitol Hill, for those providing protection and for the healing of our nation.”
