National Restaurant Association Sees Steady Demand for On-Premises Options, Beer-To-Go and Experiential Events

Key findings in the “Trends in On- and Off-Premises Beverage Alcohol” report include:

  • Over 40% of adults ages 21 and older choose a restaurant over another restaurant based on the availability of alcoholic beverages on the menu
  • Younger consumers are driving off-premises alcohol stickiness; over 40% of Gen Z and millennial consumers included an alcohol beverage with their takeout or delivery order in the last 6 months
  • “Experiential events” are predicted to be this year’s hottest trend, with both wine (81 precent) and beer (79 percent) drinkers saying they would participate in tasting events at restaurants
