Retired state and federal law enforcement from around the country sent a letter to New York Governor Kathy Hochul and legislative leaders urging them to reject the direct shipping of alcohol, arguing it will increase underage consumption of alcohol, create risks of contaminated or counterfeit alcohol reaching consumers, divert limited law enforcement resources and deprive communities of tax revenue.
