Tourist Deaths Are Tragic Reminder of the Need for Effective Alcohol Regulation
At least five tourists in Laos, including one American, have died from alcohol poisoning after consuming drinks suspected of being tainted with methanol. The latest in a series of international methanol incidents caused by lax oversight — as well as dangerous black markets in prohibitionist states — the tragedy draws attention to the need for effective regulation of alcohol.
