Beer Distributors Announce Support for Hurricane Helene Recovery

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – At its 87th Annual Convention and Product Showcase, the National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA) announced a combined $50,000 donation to support relief efforts for those impacted by Hurricane Helene.

NBWA Chairman of the Board Jim Fabiano II announced that the Independent Beer Distributors Relief Fund will donate $25,000 to relief efforts, which NBWA will match.

“There will be a long road to recovery and we are taking action as an association to provide support during this difficult time. It’s important that in times of need, we pull together to take care of one another and our communities,” said Fabiano. “Let’s all keep everyone affected by this storm in our thoughts and support them as best we can.”

In 2017, the Independent Beer Distributors Relief Fund was established in Texas following the destruction caused by Hurricane Harvey.

Gifts from the Independent Beer Distributors Relief Fund are disbursed on an as-needed basis and provide immediate relief to members of the beer community. This long-term support system stands ready to help those impacted by this and future disasters.

The National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA) represents America’s 3,000 independent beer distributors who service every state, congressional district and media market across the country. Licensed at the federal and state levels, beer distributors get bottles, cans, cases and kegs from a brewer or importer to stores, restaurants and other licensed retail accounts through a transparent and accountable regulatory system. Distributors build brands of all sizes – from familiar domestic beers to new startup labels and imports from around the world – and generate enormous consumer choice while supporting more than 137,000 quality jobs in their home communities. Beer distributors work locally to keep communities safe by sponsoring programs to promote responsible consumption, combat drunk driving and reduce underage drinking.
