NBWA filed comments with the Department of Health and Human Services regarding the alcohol review process for the 2025-2030 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, urging the department to:

• Provide transparency on the objectives and methodology of a newly formed secondary review panel outside of the typical review process
• Explain why resources to prevent underage drinking are being used to examine moderate adult alcohol consumption
• Make certain that any Dietary Guidelines recommendations on alcohol are supported by the preponderance of scientific evidence
