Big Game, Big Prep: Beer Distributors Get America Ready for Football

With over 41% of Americans planning to serve or drink beer this Super Bowl weekend — to the tune of over 300 million gallons consumed — the country’s 3,000 local and independent beer distributors are working overtime to get watch parties ready for action.

How big is the Big Game for beer?

  • The equivalent of 50 million cases will be enjoyed over the course of the weekend
  • Americans will spend $1.3 billion on beer in the two weeks leading up to the Super Bowl, and another $1 billion on the day of the game itself
  • The Super Bowl drives beer sales about 20% above average nationally

The average beer distributor services over 1,100 different retail accounts, helping them find the right product mix and ensuring prompt delivery — even in the busiest weeks. Getting their customers ready for the Super Bowl means an all-hands-on-deck effort to get orders picked, loaded and safely delivered.

With Philadelphia ready for a big weekend of cheering on their Eagles, the team at Origlio Beverage is working hard to make sure shelves are stocked and taps are flowing across the Eastern Pennsylvania region.

Beer distributors don’t just safely deliver your favorite beers and beverages. They’re also marketing experts who bring brands to life through creative displays and exciting events.

Football fans visiting New Orleans for the game will see the handiwork of Southern Eagle Sales and Service all over the French quarter.

It takes a lot of dedicated team members to get ready for an event this size. The three cities directly involved in the game are served by:

  • 7,250 beer distribution employees in Pennsylvania
  • 4,000 in Missouri and Kansas
  • 2,500  in Louisiana

Without them and all of America’s 140,000 beer distribution professionals, this weekend wouldn’t be quite so, well, super.
