Understanding NBWA’s Commitment To Privacy
Your privacy is important to the National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA). You have the right to understand how NBWA handles your personal identifiable information (PII) prior to providing it to NBWA through the NBWA Web site at www.nbwa.org and all subdomains.
To better protect your privacy, we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available on the NBWA homepage and at every point where personally identifiable information may be requested.

About Information NBWA Collects
NBWA.org only collects PII that you voluntarily provide to us. This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the NBWA Web site, www.nbwa.org and all subdomains. On some pages you may make requests, participate in online surveys or register to receive materials or services. The types of personal information collected at these pages are name, title, company, mailing address, phone number, e-mail address, comments, suggestions or other information. NBWA generally collects data to strengthen membership communication and services and to strengthen communication by those interested in promoting beer. When you visit the NBWA Web site, your domain name will be automatically recognized.
When you visit our Web site you may provide us with two types of information: personal information you knowingly choose to disclose that is collected on an individual basis and Web site use information collected on an aggregate basis as you and others browse our Web site.
Personal Information You Choose to Provide
Credit Card Information
If you choose to purchase products or services from us or our partners, you may need to give personal information and authorization to obtain information from various credit services. For example, you may need to provide the following information:

- Mailing address

- Other personal information (i.e. mothers maiden name)
Email Information
In addition to providing the foregoing information to our partners, if you choose to correspond further with us through email, we may retain the content of your email messages together with your email address and our responses. We provide the same protections for these electronic communications that we employ in the maintenance of information received by mail and telephone.
How NBWA Uses Information
Broadly speaking, we use personal information for purposes of administering our business activities, providing membership service and making available other products and services to our members. Occasionally, we may also use the information we collect to notify you about important changes to our Web site, new services and special offers we think you will find valuable. The lists used to send you product and service offers are developed and managed under our traditional standards designed to safeguard the security and privacy of our members personal information. As an NBWA member, you will be given the opportunity, at least once annually, to notify us of your desire not to receive these offers.
NBWA uses non-identifying and aggregate information to better design the NBWA Web site and share information with NBWA Board Members. For example, NBWA staff may report that X number of individuals visited a certain area on the NBWA Web site. NBWA staff may also report on the operating system, Web browser software (i.e., Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer), screen resolution and referrer Web site of our online visitors. Information about your computer allows NBWA to improve the content and services of interest to members and site visitors. However, NBWA does not disclose anything that could be used to identify those individuals.
NBWA uses return e-mail addresses to answer the e-mail received at info@nbwa.org or direct e-mails to NBWA staff. If e-mail is received from an NBWA member, or someone interested in promoting beer, NBWA staff may add the individuals e-mail address to the NBWA database if the association does not currently have one entered for the individual. This information helps NBWA improve electronic communication among NBWA members, staff and other interested parties. NBWA does not share this information with outside parties.
You may choose to make requests, participate in online surveys and register to receive materials or services. Information you submit on the NBWA Web site will not be used for any other purpose. NBWA provides you with the opportunity to specifically choose the communications you wish to receive from NBWA.
NBWA never discloses, rents, sells or uses PII provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above or without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.
Sharing Information with Affiliates
From time to time, you may notice offers from outside companies advertised on our Web site. We take measures to select product or service providers that are responsible and afford privacy protections to their customers. However, we cannot make any representations about the practices and policies of these companies.
Sharing Information with Strategic Partners
We may enter into strategic marketing alliances or partnerships with third parties who may be given access to personal information including your name, address, telephone number and email for the purpose of providing you information regarding products and services that we think will be of interest to you. In connection with strategic marketing alliances or partnerships, we will retain all ownership rights to the information and we will not share information regarding your social security number or other personal financial data.

Occasionally, we may also use the information we collect to notify you about important changes to our Web site, new services and special offers we think you will find valuable. As an NBWA member, you will be given the opportunity to notify us of your desire not to receive these offers by clicking on a response box when you receive such an offer or by sending us an email request at info@nbwa.org.
How Do We Secure Information Transmissions?
When you send confidential personal credit card information to us on our Web site, a secure server software which we have licensed encrypts all information you input before it is sent to us. The information is scrambled en route and decoded once it reaches our Web site.
Other email that you may send to us may not be secure unless we advise you that security measures will be in place prior to your transmitting the information. For that reason, we ask that you do not send confidential information such as Social Security or account numbers to us through an unsecured email.
How Do We Protect Your Information?

We utilize encryption/security software to safeguard the confidentiality of personal information we collect from unauthorized access or disclosure and accidental loss, alteration or destruction.

Periodically, our operations and business practices are reviewed for compliance with corporate policies and procedures governing the security, confidentiality and quality of our information.
Employee Access, Training and Expectations
Our association values, ethical standards, policies and practices are committed to the protection of NBWA member information. In general, our business practices limit employee access to confidential information, and limit the use and disclosure of such information to authorized persons, processes and transactions.
How Can You Access and Correct Your Information?
You may request access to all your personally identifiable information that we collect online and maintain in our database by e-mailing.
Do We Disclose Information to Outside Parties?
We may provide aggregate information about our customers, sales, Web site traffic patterns and related Web site information to our affiliates or reputable third parties, but this information will not include personally identifying data, except as otherwise provided in this Privacy Policy.
What About Legally Compelled Disclosure of Information?
We may disclose information when legally compelled to do so, in other words, when we, in good faith, believe that the law requires it or for the protection of our legal rights.

We are not responsible for the practices employed by Web sites linked to or from our Web site nor the information or content contained therein. Often links to other Web sites are provided solely as pointers to information on topics that may be useful to the users of our Web site.

Our Commitment To Youth Privacy
Protecting the privacy of our youth is especially important to NBWA. For that reason, NBWA never collects or maintains information at our Web site from those we actually know are under 21, and no part of our Web site is structured to attract anyone under 21. NBWA and its members are committed to ensuring that the products they provide are enjoyed legally, responsibly and safely by persons of legal drinking age only.
How You Can Control The Use Of Your Information
NBWA provides you with choice and control over the collection and use of your PII.
