Beer Distributors Provide Critical Support for Hurricane Relief Efforts

Alexandria, VA – As beer distributors across the country mobilize to deliver critical supplies to hurricane-stricken areas, the National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA) announced a combined $75,000 donation to the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund to aid recovery from Hurricane Helene, as well as continued fundraising efforts to support communities affected by Hurricane Milton.

NBWA, the North Carolina Beer & Wine Wholesalers Association and the Independent Beer Distributors Relief Fund each donated $25,000 today to aid ongoing relief efforts for North Carolinians affected by Hurricane Helene.

As Hurricane Milton approaches Florida, America’s beer distributors will continue to provide essential support — from donations that go directly to recovery funds to delivering critical supplies to storm victims.

“Beer distributors are among the first to leap into action to serve their communities in times of crisis and we have seen these local, family-owned businesses make a big difference over the last week,” said NBWA President and CEO Craig Purser. “NBWA is proud to work with state associations and our distributor members to expand the industry’s important support for those affected by these devastating storms.”

In addition to state- and national-level efforts, beer distributors quickly mobilized their teams and fleets to provide immediate, local support for affected communities, including:

Adams Beverages of North Carolina donated over 40,000 bottles and cans of water and hydration beverages to support relief efforts in western North Carolina
Caffey Distributing sent multiple trucks with urgently needed supplies to western North Carolina
Cherokee Distributing delivered 7,000 gallons of water to storm victims in eastern Tennessee
Gold Coast Eagle Distributing delivered over 1,000 cases of water to hard-hit areas around Sarasota, Florida
Holston Distributing Company delivered over 50,000 cans of water to Johnson City, Tennessee
KW Beverage delivered 150,000 cans of water to impacted communities across North Carolina and South Carolina
Tri-Eagle Sales distributed 100,000 cans of water to aid recovery in the Florida Panhandle
Tryon Distributing raised over $10,000 for weekly supply drops for storm victims in North Carolina

The Independent Beer Distributors Relief Fund is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation started by Texas beer distributors to assist recovery efforts following Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.
