Courtesy of www.oregoncraftbeermonth.comOregon’s beer distributors are helping celebrate the excitement that craft beer brings to the industry during the state’s fifth annual Craft Beer Month.

According to the Oregon Brewers Guild (OBG), Oregon has 87 breweries, which demonstrates how strong the entrepreneurial spirit is across the state.

Columbia Distributing, in partnership with several of Oregon’s craft breweries, is lending a hand to ensure another successful Oregon Craft Beer Month.  The company has offered support in the planning, production, advertising, and execution of all events.

Mark Walen, General Manager of Columbia Distributing, said, “Columbia Distributing is both proud and excited to be part of the statewide growth and celebration of craft beer. Columbia has worked very hard with our craft beer partners to help introduce consumers to new brands, styles and flavors of beer.  It is an exciting time in the beer industry and we are honored to have a hand in it.”

The month-long celebration began with a party at McMenamins Hillsdale Brewery and a statewide toast to the participating breweries, bars and restaurants.  This year marks the historic 25th anniversary of the Oregon Brewpub Law, the legislation that officially legalized consumption of beer where it was produced, and McMenamins Hillsdale Brewery & Public House became Oregon’s first brewpub. To celebrate this important anniversary, the event hosted beers from Oregon’s pioneering breweries – Bridgeport Brewing Co., Deschutes Brewery, Full Sail Brewing, McMenamins Hillsdale Brewery, Rogue Ales and Widmer Brothers Brewing.

The celebration continues for the remainder of the month with more than 120 beer events taking place across the state. The events feature a celebration of all things craft beer by Oregon's craft breweries with beer tastings, beer maker dinners, new beer releases, meet the brewer nights, beer festivals, brewery tours, and beer and cheese pairings. All events take place throughout the state of Oregon, and culminate with one of the nation’s largest all craft beer festivals - The 23rd Annual Oregon Brewers Festival. From July 22 to July 25, Portland’s Waterfront Park will have locals raising glasses to celebrate 23 years of craft beer and will feature more than 80 craft beers from around the country.
