NBWA Hosts “Beer and Books” Featuring Excitement of Craft Beers and Wide Range of Flavors Delivered by America’s Beer Distributors
The National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA) recently hosted members of the media and beer industry friends at a “Beer and Books” meet-and-greet event featuring beer experts Christina Perozzi and Hallie Beaune, authors of the newly-released book The Naked Pint: An Unadulterated Guide to Craft Beer. The event, which took place at Washington, D.C., cooking school CulinAerie, included a book signing by the authors and an opportunity to sample food items paired with craft beers such as Ommegang Witte (New York), Dogfish Head Raison D'Etre (Delaware) and Oskar Blues Ten Fidy (Colorado).
The event has generated multiple media mentions, including coverage in the Washington Examiner, the popular Capitol Hill newspaper Roll Call, Washington, D.C., business publication Bisnow and others.
“This event highlighted the vast choice and variety of beer available to consumers of legal drinking age across the U.S. Many folks don’t realize that there are 13,000 labels of beer sold coast to coast – that’s the most anywhere in the world,” said NBWA Vice President, Public Affairs Rebecca Spicer. “No other alcohol regulatory system encourages such a strong entrepreneurial spirit – the state-based system of alcohol regulation has helped the number of small brewers grow to more than 1,500.”
“Craft beer and beer in general is now just rising to a great place in the dining experience,” said Perozzi. “We have over 13,000 different labels of beer that distributors help to take around the nation… and it’s why we’re able to get craft beer and the specialty beer that you weren’t able to get even two, three, four years ago.”
The Naked Pint: An Unadulterated Guide to Craft Beer covers everything from beer basics to the science behind beer, as well as food and beer pairings, recipes with beer as a key ingredient and tips for perfecting your palate.
