Incentives for Investing in Green Technologies
The National Beer Wholesalers Association Innovation & Technology Committee has been working to make available a listing of federal, state and local incentives offered to businesses who are considering investing in green or sustainable technologies. Below are two resources that can help distributors easily locate incentives that may be available to them.
Database of State Incentives for Renewables and Efficiency (DSIRE)
The DSIRE site offers a state-by-state listing of incentives available to businesses and individuals who are interested in investing in renewable or sustainable energy. Distributors can see what benefits are available in their state by visiting http://www.dsireusa.org/.
Established in 1995, DSIRE is an ongoing project of the North Carolina Solar Center and the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC). It is funded by the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE). The site is administered by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), which is operated for DOE by the Alliance for Sustainable Energy, LLC.
Department of Energy Alternative Fuels and Advanced Vehicle Data Center
For information on incentives related to alternate fuel vehicles or other incentives related to truck fleets, distributors are encouraged to visit the Department of Energy’s Web site featuring the Alternative Fuels and Advanced Vehicle Data Center. This site, http://www.afdc.energy.gov/afdc/laws/, provides visitors with a map that lists state-by-state incentives available to businesses or individuals who plan to invest in alternate fuels or new, hybrid vehicle technologies.
For more information about either of these two resources or any of the sustainable initiatives NBWA is following, please contact NBWA Director of State & Industry Affairs Dave Christman at 800-300-6417 or dchristman@nbwa.org.
